Veronica Parmar
Pilates Coordinator and Instructor for YogaWorks Playa Vista
What is your passion?
My passion is teaching. I started working with children in my early 20’s teaching dance and now I work with adults as a Pilates Instructor. I work with all types of individuals and love to see them become stronger and grow in their Pilates practice.
1 thing you do every day that contributes to your daily well-being?
One thing that I do every day that contributes to my daily well-being is getting enough sleep daily. I do my best to get 7-8 hours every night. I feel that when I am well rested I’m able to be more present for my clients and family.
A charity that I support.
I am a member of the Westchester Elks Lodge located in Playa Del Rey. I found out about the organization when I first started dating my husband who was an active member. They put on a lot of great community events such as an annual chili cookoff/car show and Oktoberfest. A good percentage of the money raised goes to Veterans services and providing occupational therapy for children who can’t afford it.
One thing I would tell my teenage self.
One thing that I would tell my teenage self is don’t worry so much about what people think of you. As most young people I was concerned about what people though and if they liked me. I’ve realized as I get older that not everyone is going to like you and that’s ok. It’s important to find your people that do!
A passion dear to my heart is supporting and uplifting women. When women support each other, incredible things happen. Sweetrocks will carry that mission by highlighting women weekly in hopes of education, support and inspiration of women.
